Department of Recreation and
Sport Management

As the recreation and sport industry is
rapidly developing in Taiwan, recreation and sport
management is getting important. The aim of this
department focus on three streams, include (1)
professional sports, (2) sport facilities design and
management, and (3) sport training and health
instruction. Based on these streams this department
attempts to improve students’ operational and managerial
ability.
【Teaching
Facilities】
The department of recreation and
sport located at the 5th levels of Building A.
Facilities employ for educational use include fitness
centre, dance classroom, martial-art classroom, rocket
claiming areas, multiple-use gymnasium, tennis courts,
volleyball courts, archery field and softball field.
There is also a sport centre under designing which will
include water sport related facilities.
【Student
Recruitment】
Our students are come from variety
sport backgrounds and they are top. Students who are
interesting in sport management are welcome to apply.
【Course Character】
Our
program focuses on combining both theory and practical
practice. 300 hours internship is required to fulfill
department requirement, in which 150 hours, code
internship, are offered by contracted and recognized
sports industry companies and students are assigned via
department. Another 150 internship hours, students could
choice sports related industry to practice internship.
In addition, 6 sports related profession licenses was
required prior to graduation.
Program
related courses characteristics as following:
1. To
cultivate fundamental academic ability: code courses
such as management, marketing,
accounting, information management and statistics.
Department requirements such as sports
marketing, sports event management and so on.
2. To
practice and to familiar recreational sports skills:
Recreational sports curriculum includes
water
sports, aerobic sports and extreme sports curriculums
and internships. Meanwhile, sports
facilities management and design are also offered. Other
athletic motor skills, training theory,
sports
injury management, and sports competition event
management are included as well.
3. To
understand both international and domestic sports
industry: Sports service management focus
on
discussing sports industry and its related industries.

status! What’s the future
trend?
Those are our main focus topic.
4.
International communication: to attend international
conferences and to cooperate with
international well-known companies and universities.

weight control clinic and swimming and

recreational clubs.

sports industries: Sports stadium architect, sports
tourism, sports and medical equipment,
sports
broadcasting and media, sports agent, fitness

【Faculty Research Achievements】
Faculties have outstanding achievement on academic
teaching and researching, 75 publications on well-known
journals, 145 conferences papers, both domestic and
international conference, and 9 books.
【Intercollegiate Sports Competition Achievements】
We
have great achievements in intercollegiate sports event
and we provide scholarship for student athletes in
variety of sports, such as archery, TKD, volleyball,
tennis, badminton and cheerleading.
